Explore

Ojai’s Wills-Rice Canyon trail offers an easy/moderate 2-hour hike through three Ecosystems: Oak Meadow; Riparian Canyon, and Chaparral. An experienced and knowledgeable Trail Guide will lead the group on the 4.6 mile loop with 580 feet of elevation. The trip begins by crossing the usually dry Ventura River, passing a recently restored oak meadow, and then gently climbs through Wills Canyon and into the “enchanted forest”. You will exit the forest and begin a half-mile climb with 275 feet of elevation which rewards you with beautiful views of the canyon and surrounding hill, culminating at the saddle with an unobstructed view of the Ojai Valley. An easy downhill 1.8 mile trek through Rice Canyon completes the loop.

Please contact Spa Reservations at (888) 772-6524 to book your reservation in advance. Group hikes include round-trip transportation from Spa Ojai to the trail head, bottled water, and a snack. Guests must be at least 10-years-old to participate. Cancellations require 24 hours of notice.

Thank you for supporting the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy (OVLC). A donation of $15 per hiker will be made to the OVLC, a local nonprofit land protection organization working to protect and restore the open space, wildlife habitat, watersheds, and views of the Ojai Valley for current and future generations. 


Gratuity is optional and is not automatically added to the cost of the service. Industry standard is typically 18-22% and can be arranged pre or post service.
